E-commerce Skills Development - Baku E-Trade Forum 2018, Azerbaijan
Grow Global’s Founder, Sarah Carroll, spoke on a panel at the Baku E-trade Forum 2018. An initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies in Azerbaijan, with the support of the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), focusing on assisting the development of e-trade in the country.
Baku E-trade Forum will be 2018’s most exciting international gathering in the e-commerce world. This two-day Forum from 21 October 2018 will feature 30+ speakers, 60+ e-commerce platforms and fin tech, and 300+ attendees: international organizations, MSMEs, public organizations, government agencies, investors and startups.
E-commerce has been facing rapid changes in the recent years. Even the biggest companies are struggling to respond to multiple challenges when it comes to market intelligence and online growth.
Sarah Carroll has been invited to present the e-commerce lessons learned from her new book ‘Grow Fast, Grow Global‘ at a panel session on ‘E-commerce Skills Development‘.
Panel Overview
The session will focus on identifying responses to major challenges and opportunities regarding the role of e-commerce skills in development of online trade.
In many countries, enterprises as well as policy makers lack capacities and technical skills to harness e-commerce, hampering the uptake of online commerce.
Selling products and services to customers globally through digital channels requires more than an internet connection and access to technology. Without the necessary business skills, including those in traditional domains such as marketing, finance and logistics entrepreneurs are unlikely to find success in highly competitive e-commerce marketplaces.
