International Trade And Digital Marketing Strategy For British Luxury - Walpole Crafted

Sarah Carroll, Grow Global’s Founder, was a guest speaker at the Walpole British Luxury Crafted Workshops in 2016 and 2014.

Walpole Crafted is a mentoring programme that has been developed to support and promote a new breed of emerging luxury craft businesses from Walpole, the British luxury brand alliance. The initiative was founded with the aim of finding and nurturing talented craftspeople, keeping their skills alive and showcasing their talents to a wider audience. The programme includes one-to-one mentorship and a series of developmental workshop with some of the UK’s leading luxury leaders.

The attendees included Alexandra Llewellyn, Eleanor Lakelin, Insley & Nash, Silvia Weidenback, Struthers London, Tallowin and Theresa Nguyen.

What are the objectives of the event?

This full day workshops covered two main topics: ‘International Trade and Marketing’ and ‘International Digital Strategy’.

The International Trade and Marketing session covered the following topics:

  • Build a world-class website

  • Make your website appeal to customers around the world

  • Make your website visible internationally

  • Attract more international website visitors

  • Convert international visitors into sales.

The International Digital Strategy workshop covered the following topics:

  • How the international web works

  • Options for an international digital strategy

  • The exporting online opportunity

  • Selecting online export markets

  • International channels for selling online

  • Top international online marketplaces

  • Using paid advertising (PPC)

  • Selling through social media worldwide (s-commerce)

  • Selling via mobile (m-commerce).
